The movie 'Superman' (directed by James Gunn) is landing in theaters across the Republic of Korea. It will engage in a box office battle during the summer peak season.

Distributor Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 12th, "Superman will shake up the theaters this summer," adding, "It is set to be released on July 9."

'Superman' is a live-action film featuring the hero Superman as the protagonist. James Gunn, the newly appointed head of DC Studios, is in charge of both the screenplay and direction.

It is one of the most anticipated films among this year's releases. 'Superman' topped the list of 'Most Anticipated Movies of 2025,' as selected by IMDb in the United States.

Director James Gunn has also expressed confidence, stating, "'Superman' has its unique fantasy elements, but it also possesses realistic characters that set it apart." He also added, "Writing the script was really fun, and it will be very different from the works I’ve written before."

David Corenswet will play Superman and Clark Kent. Rachel Brosnahan will portray Lois Lane, Superman's love interest.

Nicholas Hoult will take on the role of Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor, creating dramatic tension alongside Maria Gabriela DeFaria, who plays an engineer.

Additionally, a variety of superpowered characters will appear, including Guy Gardner (played by Nathan Fillion) and Mister Terrific (played by Eddie Gathegi).

Meanwhile, 'Superman' will be available in domestic theaters starting next month, on the 9th. It is set to be released in North America on the 11th.
