
Super Junior's Sungmin is leaving SM Entertainment.
On the 30th, SM Entertainment stated, "We express our gratitude to Sungmin, who has been with us for over 20 years since his trainee days." They further announced, "We inform you that Sungmin's exclusive contract has ended," and "We will continue to support Sungmin's music activities and new beginnings."
Sungmin debuted as a member of Super Junior in 2005. In 2014, he married musical actress Kim Sa-eun. After his marriage, he temporarily halted group activities.
In 2019, he transitioned to a solo artist and has been active as a trot singer since 2023. Last year, he released the trot single "Yo. Yo. Yo."
