The seriousness of the school violence incident that occurred during a field trip at a middle school in Yeosu
A serious school violence incident occurred at a middle school in Yeosu, where a student inflicted injuries on a classmate, resulting in four weeks of medical treatment.
The perpetrator has been referred to the prosecution on charges of injury; however, there is controversy regarding the inadequate response from the school and the education office during the handling of the incident.

According to KBC Gwangju Broadcasting on the 19th, in mid-April this year during a field trip activity, a 2nd-year middle school student, referred to as A, was subjected to indiscriminate violence by his classmate B while they were outside on the playground.
At that time, B, wearing soccer shoes, stomped on A's abdomen and kicked him hard in the side.
As a result, A was diagnosed with four weeks of medical treatment and had to remain bedridden for over a month due to organ damage.
However, despite witnessing the assault, the sports instructor left A, who was writhing in pain, unattended for over three minutes.
Though the instructor eventually attempted to help A move, when A was unable to stabilize himself, the instructor even left A alone in the middle of the playground.

The outrage of the victim's family regarding the school's and education office's response
What is even more serious is that while A lay collapsed, other students continued to play soccer and run around the area, creating a shocking situation.
It took 18 minutes after the assault for A to finally get on the ambulance and be transported to the hospital.

A's father expressed his anger, stating, "They didn’t follow the proper emergency procedures and dragged my child across the playground… I just don’t understand."
Furthermore, A's father claimed, "The school released the CCTV footage belatedly, and the education office urged reconciliation during the school violence review process, ignoring the victim's pain."
He also lamented to KBC, "(The perpetrator) repeatedly asked if we could accept an apology."
In response, the education office and school stated, "The sports instructor's initial response was inadequate, but there were no procedural problems in the school violence review process." However, such explanations are insufficient to appease the anger of the victim's family.
Currently, the perpetrator has been referred to the prosecution on charges of injury, and the victim's father has stated that he will consider further actions following the review results of the school violence case.
