Stray Kids’ Extraordinary Performance at the ‘AMAs’… Even ‘NSYNC Was Impressed

Stray Kids delivered a spectacular stage at the 'American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special.' Stray Kids attended as performers at the 'American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special' (hereinafter referred to as 'AMAs') held in Los Angeles, USA, on the 7th. They were the second K-pop group to grace the stage following BTS.

The 'AMAs' is considered one of the four major American music award ceremonies, alongside the Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and MTV Video Music Awards. This year, the event revisited the 50-year history of the awards ceremony.

Boy bands that defined each era were introduced: New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, One Direction, followed by a VCR showcasing BTS moments at the 'AMAs.' Stray Kids were introduced in succession. Lance Bass from America's representative boy band 'NSYNC' and AJ McLean from 'Backstreet Boys' called the members to the stage. The complete group appeared.

Stray Kids presented a special rearranged stage in celebration of 50 years of boy bands. They performed the title track 'CHECKMATE' from the mini-album 'EIGHT.' They incorporated portions of NSYNC's iconic song 'Bye Bye Bye.'

After the performance, NSYNC posted Stray Kids' stage video on their official SNS. They expressed, "It’s an honor to see the recreation of the 'Bye Bye Bye' marionette moment by Stray Kids at the 'AMAs'."

They stood shoulder to shoulder with global top artists. They elevated the stature of the awards ceremony alongside notable names such as Mariah Carey, Green Day, Brad Paisley, Jennifer Hudson, Nelly, Nile Rodgers, and CHIC.

Stray Kids is currently breaking new records with their mini-album 'EIGHT.' They have been named the best-selling K-pop album in the U.S. in 2024, reconfirming their immense popularity in the local market.

The group is proceeding with their largest-ever new world tour 'DOMINATE.' On the 19th, they will hold a solo concert at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium in Australia. They will then visit Sydney on the 26th.
