Stray Kids (hereafter referred to as “SKZ”) are excelling on global charts. On the 13th, SKZ released the SKZ-RECORD Mixtape ‘合’ (HOP), with the title track ‘Walkin On Water’, sweeping the top positions on charts.
They topped the Worldwide and European iTunes Album Charts (as of the 13th and 14th) and reached number one on the Top Albums chart in 28 international regions (as of the morning of the 16th). Not only that, but they also achieved Million-Seller status (surpassing 1 million copies sold) within a day of the release, recording sales of 1.42 million copies according to the album sales tracking site ‘Hanteo Chart’.
As of the morning of the 16th, ‘Walkin On Water’ ranked first on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 25 regions, chosen by global listeners from countries like Mexico and Chile.
The response to the music video for this song is also hot. From the day of its release until this morning, it has maintained the top position in YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide for four consecutive days. It ranked in the trending videos list in 43 regions worldwide (as of the 15th), earning praise for its classic beauty and hip-hop energy displayed in the visual aesthetics.
SKZ recently affirmed their global popularity by being selected as the winner of the Top Global K-Pop Artist category at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (Korean time) on the 13th. They became the first fourth-generation K-pop boy group to achieve this, claiming the trophy for the second consecutive year, solidifying their position as a top global artist.
They also achieved excellent results on Billboard’s annual charts. ‘Rockstar’ ranked 4th in the Top Album Sales category, the highest among domestic artists, and ‘Eight’ placed 9th. SKZ ranked high on various Billboard charts, securing the top positions in World Albums 1 and 2, World Albums Artist 1, and Top Album Sales Artist 2.
SKZ continues with diverse promotions for their new album release. From the 14th to the 22nd, they will host the ‘SKZ-RECORD’ pop-up store in Hwigyeomjae, Jongno-gu, Seoul. Today at 2 PM, they will release the remix single ‘Walkin On Water Remixes’, offering various versions for fans to enjoy.
These include the original, Sleigh, Sway, Sped Up, and Instrumental versions of the title track.
