The Netflix original series 'Squid Game' Season 2 has topped the charts in 92 countries worldwide. On the 28th, FlixPatrol released its latest statistics. Season 2 of 'Squid Game' reached number one in Netflix's global TV show category on the 27th, just one day after its release. It has claimed the top spot in a total of 92 countries.

It ranked number one in countries such as the United States, France, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and Turkey. It was the most-watched content in all countries where FlixPatrol tracks viewing records, except for New Zealand.

Season 2 tells the intense showdown between Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game seeking revenge, and the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) who greets him. It also depicts the start of the real game once again.

Season 2 garnered global attention even before its release, as Season 1 had set the highest viewership record among Netflix content worldwide. Since its release, it has accumulated a total of 2.205 billion viewing hours.

However, criticism from foreign media was divided following the episode release on the 26th. The New York Times criticized it stating, "Squid Game flashes a red light. It showcases stylish slaughter, but the story is stagnant."

On the other hand, the U.S. film industry magazine Variety praised it, commenting, "It's more intense, grander in scale, and maximizes immersion," and evaluated it as "shedding a new light on the issues of modern Korean society."

'Squid Game' Season 2 consists of a total of 7 episodes. Season 3 is scheduled to be released next year.
