Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk) did not win the award for Best TV Drama at the Golden Globes in the United States. The 82nd Golden Globe Awards were held on the 6th in Los Angeles, USA. “Squid Game” Season 2 was nominated for Best TV Drama but did not win.
“Squid Game” had also previously failed to win Best Drama at the 79th Golden Globe Awards in 2022, although Oh Young-soo won Best Supporting Actor. This year, the Best Drama Award was once again out of reach. The winner was “Shōgun,” which aired on the U.S. FX channel.
“Shōgun” is set in 17th century Japan and won not only the Best Drama Award but also awards for Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor in the TV category.
“Squid Game 2” depicts the intense confrontation between Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae), who returns to the game with a vow for revenge, and the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun), who greets him. Season 3 is set to be released in the second half of this year.
