'Squid Game' Season 2 was released on the 26th and has risen to the top of Netflix's non-English language TV show global rankings, according to the latest FlixPatrol data as of the 29th.

It achieved a perfect score of 930 points, topping the charts in 93 regions/countries, including South Korea, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Vietnam, India, Brazil, and Colombia.

The key question is whether it can surpass the record of the megahit original. Upon its release, 'Squid Game' maintained the global number one position on FlixPatrol for 46 days.

Netflix's official tally has yet to be released and is updated every Wednesday. For 'Squid Game,' it has surpassed 2.2 billion hours of viewing time, retaining the all-time number one spot.

As the sequel has been released amidst high expectations, opinions are divided. The 'New York Times' noted, "The carnage is more stylish, but the story is stagnant."

In contrast, 'Variety' praised it as "more brutal and expansive, offering an entirely immersive narrative" and said it "heightens expectations for Season 3."

'Vogue' also gave it a positive review, stating, "'Squid Game' Season 2 introduced a new perspective to the existing survival game, making it deeper and richer than before."

Meanwhile, 'Squid Game' Season 2 is the sequel to 'Squid Game,' depicting the intense showdown between Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) and the Front Man (played by Lee Byung-hun) as they re-enter the game.
