Sweet Potato Cake with Detected Food Poisoning Bacteria, Sales Suspension and Recall Measures
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has implemented a sales suspension and recall measure for sweet potato cakes manufactured by 'Hansalim Our Wheat Bakery' located in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, after food poisoning bacteria were discovered.
According to the announcement made by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 20th, the recalled product is 'Sweet Potato Cake No. 1' distributed by 'Hansalim Business Alliance', specifically products with a manufacturing date marked as June 12, 2025.

Food poisoning-causing Staphylococcus aureus was detected in the product. Staphylococcus aureus is known as a primary causative agent of food poisoning that produces toxins in food, leading to gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea.
It is one of the main inspection targets for food safety management, and immediate action is required, especially when found in dairy products or confectionery items.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety stated, "Anseong City Hall has been instructed to swiftly recall the affected products," and urged consumers to remain cautious.
Consumers who have already purchased the product were emphasized to "immediately cease consumption and return it to the place of purchase."
