BTS’s V will present a carol in collaboration with pop artist Bing Crosby. BigHit Music announced on the 6th, “The duet song ‘White Christmas’ by V and Bing Crosby will be released as an audio track and music video at 2 PM today.” ‘White Christmas’ is V’s second winter gift.
On the 29th of last month, V released the digital single ‘Winter Ahead,’ a collaboration with Park Hyo-shin. It offers a profound emotional experience to listeners. V reinterpreted parts of ‘White Christmas.’ His unique jazzy voice harmonized with Bing Crosby’s vocals.
Primary Wave, Bing Crosby’s label, explained, “We recorded it to fully capture V’s voice, which everyone loves, along with warm sounds.” The collaboration between these musicians was made possible through the latest technology.
Bing Crosby’s voice in this song was separated from the original 1950 recording, not generated by AI. It was paired with V’s vocals. A new accompaniment was also added to make it sound as if they sang in the same recording studio. Meticulous effort was put into every process.
V expressed his respect for such work. He said, “I grew up listening to Bing Crosby’s songs every day. I was very happy and grateful to be able to sing with my idol.” He continued, “Bing Crosby is my favorite jazz artist. I sang with full admiration for him, so I hope everyone enjoys it.”
Meanwhile, the ‘White Christmas’ music video will be released simultaneously with the audio and can be viewed on Bing Crosby’s official YouTube channel.
