Ms. Kim suddenly collapsed while trying to have a meal at a restaurant on the 6th of last month. She was transported to the hospital but never regained consciousness and eventually entered a state of brain death.

Her family decided to donate her organs. They stated, "It was not a difficult decision to make because through donation, we can do something good that saves lives, and after death, one returns to nature."

They also expressed their gratitude, saying, "We believe that the reason we were able to donate was because of the citizens who unhesitatingly performed CPR when our mother collapsed, the paramedics who arrived quickly at the scene, and the medical staff who provided excellent treatment. We are thankful to everyone who did their best to save our mother, who was in cardiac arrest."

Born as the third of six siblings in Gangjin County, Jeollanam-do, Ms. Kim had a bright and cheerful personality, loved by her family and those around her.

She enjoyed music, playing the piano and singing, and had been an active member of her church choir for over 30 years with her husband. On weekends, she participated in volunteer activities to help disadvantaged neighbors through the church.

Her son, Han Guk-ran, expressed his final words, saying, "Mother, when I close my eyes and think of you, I can only see your smiling face. It makes me very sad to think that I can no longer see that face, but I hope you are living happily and more brightly in heaven. I love you."

Lee Sam-yeol, the head of the Korean Organ Donation Agency, stated, "We thank the bereaved family of the donor for their noble decision to share life by donating organs while bidding farewell to their beloved family member. I believe such miraculous acts will serve as a warm and bright light for our society."
