On Sunday, the 20th, showers are expected across the country, along with hot and humid weather conditions.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, the day will be largely cloudy nationwide, with the central region experiencing generally overcast skies until the morning.

In the metropolitan area, Gangwon Province, northern Chungcheong Province, and Jeju Island, light rain is forecasted until the morning. The expected rainfall by region is predicted to be 20-80mm in the metropolitan area and 10-50mm in Gangwon Province.

In particular, the weather agency forecasts that very heavy rain of around 30mm per hour may occur in parts of the metropolitan area until early morning on the 20th.

Caution is advised for showers and gusty winds from the afternoon onwards.

In Gangwon, Chungcheong Province, and North Gyeongsang Province, showers of 5-40mm are expected between late afternoon and evening.

Areas experiencing rain or showers may also encounter gusty winds and thunder and lightning, necessitating extra caution against facility damage and various flood-related issues.

The temperature is expected to remain similar to or slightly higher than average levels (minimum 20-23 degrees, maximum 27-31 degrees). The morning low is predicted to be between 22-26 degrees, while the daytime high is expected to range from 29-34 degrees, indicating a continuation of hot weather.

Temperature and Sea Weather Information for Major Cities

The expected minimum temperatures in major cities are forecasted to be 24 degrees in Seoul, 25 degrees in Incheon, 23 degrees in Chuncheon, 25 degrees in Gangneung, 24 degrees in Daejeon, 24 degrees in Daegu, 25 degrees in Jeonju, 25 degrees in Gwangju, 25 degrees in Busan, and 26 degrees in Jeju.

The maximum temperatures are projected to reach 31 degrees in Seoul, 29 degrees in Incheon, 31 degrees in Chuncheon, 34 degrees in Gangneung, 34 degrees in Daejeon, 34 degrees in Daegu, 34 degrees in Jeonju, 33 degrees in Gwangju, 31 degrees in Busan, and 32 degrees in Jeju.

At sea, thunderstorms with gusty winds are expected in most maritime areas until early morning on the 20th, necessitating caution against maritime safety incidents. Furthermore, high waves due to swell are anticipated to crash strongly onto the beaches of Jeju Island for the time being, so caution is advised during coastal activities.

Meanwhile, fine dust levels are expected to remain at 'good' levels nationwide, indicating favorable air quality.
