Son Heung-min's debut goal for LA FC has been honored by being chosen as the 'Goal of the Week' in Major League Soccer (MLS).
On the 28th (Korean time), MLS officially announced, "As a result of fan voting, Son Heung-min's score has been selected as the Goal of the Week for the 30th round of the 2025 season."
Son Heung-min recorded his first goal with a free kick in the 6th minute of the first half during an away game against FC Dallas on the 24th. The shot showcased remarkable technical finesse as it skillfully soared over the defensive wall and accurately nestled into the corner of the goal.

Son Heung-min's teammate, Nkosi Tafari, praised the goal, stating, "It was a goal worthy of being exhibited in the Louvre Museum."
Significance of the Debut Goal and Overwhelming Fan Support
This goal holds special significance as it marks Son Heung-min's MLS debut goal just three games into his time with LA FC after leaving Tottenham Hotspur (England) during the summer transfer window.
Son Heung-min's spectacular free kick received overwhelming support in the fan voting, securing 60.4% of the total votes, far surpassing second place Balthazar Rodriguez (Miami) who garnered 29.1%, thus claiming the 'Goal of the Week' title.

Meanwhile, Son Heung-min, who has played all three matches away since joining LA FC, is set to make his home debut against San Diego at 11:45 AM on September 1 at LA BMO Stadium.
