
The original series 'Re-Married Empress' has chosen to go to Disney. It will present a romantic fantasy epic next year.
Disney+ confirmed the exclusive release of 'Re-Married Empress' on the 19th, revealing the main and supporting cast lineup along with a script reading session from last month.
'Re-Married Empress' tells the story of an empress of the Dongdae Empire who is notified of her divorce by the emperor and demands permission to remarry the prince of the Seowang Kingdom. The conflict begins when a runaway slave enters the emperor's palace as a concubine.
It is based on a web novel and webtoon that has recorded approximately 2.6 billion cumulative views globally (as of December last year) and has been translated into ten languages, becoming a global IP.
Director Jo Soo-won is at the helm. He has directed dramas such as 'I Hear Your Voice', 'Pinocchio', and 'Still 17'. Writer Hyun Chung-yeol, known for 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', is in charge of the script.

Shin Min-a plays the role of Empress Navier. Admired for her brilliant intellect and innate elegance, she causes a stir after notifying the emperor of her divorce and demanding to remarry the prince of the Seowang Kingdom.
Shin Min-a stated, "Since it is a work based on such a beloved original, I am both nervous and very excited. Please look forward to the beautiful scenes that will be brought to life."
Ju Ji-hoon portrays Navier's husband, Emperor Sobiesu. He is a symbol of absolute power, breaking a promise to never have concubines. He stands between two women.
He expressed, "I am happy to be part of the world of such a powerful original, while also feeling a sense of responsibility. I believe we can provide fresh dopamine to viewers."

Lee Jong-suk plays the role of the prince of the Seowang Kingdom and the first heir, Heinrich. He is a mysterious character who is known to bring rumors. Approaching Navier with hidden motives, he gradually becomes captivated.
Lee Jong-suk shared, "When I heard that 'Re-Married Empress' was being adapted into live action, I was very much looking forward to it. I believe it will be a really interesting and new work."
Lee Se-young takes on the role of the runaway slave, Rasta. Possessing stunning beauty, she learns that the man who saved her in the hunting grounds is the emperor and begins to eye the role of empress, meticulously growing her desires.
He said, "I am happy to play Rasta. The combination of a fantasy background with romance has many fascinating aspects to enjoy."

In addition, Lee Bong-ryun plays Eliza, the head maid in the western palace where Navier resides. Choi Dae-hoon portrays Heinrich's secretary, McKenna. Park Ho-san plays Rasta's former owner, Rotesh.
Jung Young-joo joins the cast as Albani, the wife of Sobiesu's uncle, who adopts Rasta to reclaim her family's power. Nam Yoon-ho plays Sobiesu's secretary, Lang.
