The 'Severe Trauma Center' has become the most-watched non-English TV program on Netflix. According to Netflix's Top 10, "Severe Trauma Center" recorded 11.9 million views (total viewing time of 82.7 million hours) for the week of January 27 to February 2, making it the number one non-English TV show.
"Squid Game 2" (directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk), which maintained the top spot for five consecutive weeks since its release on December 26 last year, was pushed to second place with 5.2 million views by "Severe Trauma Center."
The popularity of domestic productions is soaring. Four out of the top 10 non-English TV shows were Korean works. "Squid Game" Season 1 ranked fifth, and "Single's Inferno 4" took sixth place.
"Severe Trauma Center" is a medical drama depicting the exciting exploits of genius doctor Baek Kang-hyeok (played by Joo Ji-hoon), who used to roam the battlefield, and the "Team Trauma." It also dominated attention upon its release.
According to Good Data Corporation, "Severe Trauma Center" is ranked number one in the drama category. Joo Ji-hoon ranks first in drama cast popularity, with Choo Yeong-woo in fourth, and Ha Young and Yoon Kyung-ho in eleventh and twelfth, respectively.
