SEVENTEEN's Jun is about to take on a new challenge. He will appear in a Chinese fantasy drama.

Pledis Entertainment announced on the 18th, "Jun will be starring as Wen Liangjin in the Chinese drama 'Yun Gui Xi Shi.' Filming began on the 15th." 'Yun Gui Xi Shi' is a fantasy comedy period drama. It is based on the Chinese web novel 'Dangjian.' The story follows the pursuit of justice and love overcoming difficulties.

It's the second installment of a series with the same name, reaching out to local audiences. Season 1 topped the iQiyi and Weibo popularity charts when it was released in 2018.

Jun takes on the role of Wen Liangjin, a character appearing for the first time in the new season. Last year, he brought the excitement unique to youth dramas with the web drama 'Exclusive Fairytale.'

Ahead of his period drama challenge, he shared his thoughts. Jun expressed his determination, saying, "I will take the desire to do well as my motivation to embody the character. I will work hard."

He started as a child actor in China. In 2006, he appeared in the movie 'The Pye-Dog.' He was the first child actor nominated for Best New Performer at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards.

He balanced acting with team activities. Last year, he won the Popularity Award at the Asia Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards at the Busan International Film Festival for 'Exclusive Fairytale.'

Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN, the group Jun belongs to, will release their 4th Japanese single on the 27th. They are also conducting a world tour, visiting locations like Banterin Dome Nagoya on the 29th and 30th.
