SEVENTEEN has proven its power in digital music. They have added a certification record in Japan.
On the 29th, the Recording Industry Association of Japan announced last month’s streaming certifications on its official website. The data is calculated based on the information provided by GfK Japan.
SEVENTEEN received a platinum certification for their first regular album's repackaged title track "Very Nice" (Aju NICE). It has been streamed more than 100 million times on Japanese music sites.
The certification system categorizes based on accumulated streams: Gold (50 million), Platinum (100 million), Double Platinum (200 million), Triple Platinum (300 million), and Diamond (500 million).
"Very Nice" has received a platinum certification eight years after its release in 2016. The song cheerfully expresses the excitement of spending a day with a loved one.
For CARAT (the fandom name), it is a familiar song used as an encore in SEVENTEEN's performances. It was also featured at the UK's "Glastonbury" in July and Germany's "Lollapalooza Berlin" in September.
Including "Very Nice," SEVENTEEN has a total of 12 gold and platinum streaming certified songs. This includes "Mansae," "Pretty U," "Super," "HOT," and "Clap."
Their 12th mini album "SPILL THE FEELS" continues its popularity surge. It recorded the highest first-week sales among foreign artist releases this year.
The album also dominated various charts, ranking number one on the Oricon weekly album ranking and weekly combined album ranking. It was also ranked high in Billboard Japan’s "Hot Albums" and "Top Album Sales."
Meanwhile, SEVENTEEN is touring major cities in North America with their world tour "RIGHT HERE." They will head to Texas on the 31st and the 1st of next month.
