Seoul City X SoCar Collaboration… Now Rent ‘Ddarung-i’ through the ‘SoCar’ App

Seoul City Enables the Use of Bike Share Service "Ddareungi" Through the Socar App

Seoul City has partnered with the mobility platform Socar to allow citizens to use the environmentally-friendly bike share service "Ddareungi" through the Socar app starting from the 16th, enhancing accessibility for citizens.

This is part of the MOU signed between Seoul City and Socar last July, which aims to support citizens in renting and using bicycles more conveniently.

The Socar app allows users to purchase usage rights for Ddareungi and rent bikes, while existing Ddareungi members can link their Ddareungi ID on the Socar app.

If users are not members of the Ddareungi app, they can easily sign up through the Socar app.

Once registered, users can navigate to the bicycle tab on the main screen of the Socar app to view Ddareungi icons in nearby areas and select their desired service.

The expansion of this service is part of Seoul City's ongoing policy to promote environmentally-friendly transportation options.

Yeong-Jang Kwon, the head of the Seoul City Traffic Division, stated, "With this service expansion, we hope more citizens will use Ddareungi as a daily transportation option." He added, "We will continue to create a stable and easy-to-use environment that meets the needs of citizens and further expand the role of bicycles as an eco-friendly means of transportation."

Through this initiative, Seoul City expects to provide citizens with easier access to and utilization of bicycles, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions and alleviation of traffic congestion within the city.

These changes are anticipated to positively impact efforts to reduce car usage for short-distance travel in urban areas, while also promoting a healthier lifestyle.
