The Han River Bus Becomes More Convenient! Free Shuttle Bus Service
The city of Seoul has implemented new measures to enhance accessibility for citizens ahead of the official operation of the Han River Bus in September.
Seoul announced on the 4th that it will operate a free shuttle bus connecting major subway stations and ferry terminals. This initiative is expected to make the use of the Han River Bus much more convenient.
The free shuttle bus will operate in a loop from nearby subway stations such as Magok and Jamsil to stops close to the ferry terminal. The buses will run with intervals of 15 to 30 minutes, which is anticipated to significantly reduce the inconvenience of traveling to the ferry terminal to access the Han River Bus.
Operating intervals are 15 to 30 minutes.

Seoul plans to conduct a trial run of the shuttle buses in accordance with the ongoing citizen experience operation of the Han River Bus, with full operation set to begin in September during peak commuting hours (6:30 AM to 9 AM and 5:30 PM to 10 PM).
Shuttle Bus Route Information
Two shuttle buses will be deployed for the Magok ferry terminal connection, operating on a loop from the Gajang Interchange, near the ferry terminal, to Yangcheonhyanggyo Station on Line 9 and Balsan Station on Line 5. Once the official service begins, the buses are expected to run at 15-minute intervals.
The Jamsil ferry terminal shuttle bus will start from Jamsilsaenae Interchange, passing through Jamsilsaenae Station on Line 2 and Sports Complex Station on Lines 2 and 9, and will operate in a loop around the Jamsil Els Apartment complex. This route will also have a 15-minute operating interval.

Additionally, starting in September when the Han River Bus officially begins operations, a shuttle bus to the Apgujeong ferry terminal will also be added. This route will operate between Sinsa Interchange and Apgujeong Station on Line 3 at 30-minute intervals.
Seoul is also pursuing various measures to enhance public transportation accessibility alongside the shuttle bus operation.
Since last month, adjustments have been made to city and village bus routes that provided inconvenient access to the Han River bus terminals. There are also plans to install "Ddareungi" rental bike stations within a 3-minute walking distance of the terminals.
A Seoul city official expressed optimism, stating, "With the integration of city and village buses, the expansion of Ddareungi rental stations, and now the provision of free shuttle buses, citizens will be able to access the Han River bus terminals much more conveniently."
