Seo Kang-joon, from NIS to high school students… ‘Undercover High School’, script reading

Actor Seo Kang-joon takes on a variety of roles, ranging from an NIS agent to a high school student. The team behind MBC-TV’s new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Undercover High School’ (written by Lim Young-bin, directed by Choi Jung-in) recently revealed the script reading scene.

The synergy among the actors shone brightly. ‘Undercover High School’ follows the adventures of an NIS agent who goes undercover as a high school student to track down the missing gold bullion of Emperor Gojong.

Present at the script reading were Seo Kang-joon (as Jung Hae-sung), Jin Ki-joo (as Oh Soo-ah), Kim Shin-rok (as Seo Myung-joo), Jeon Bae-soo (as Ahn Seok-ho), Lee Seo-hwan (as Kim Hyung-bae), Jo Bok-rae (as Ko Young-hoon), Yoon Ga-yi (as Park Mi-jung), Kim Min-ju (as Lee Ye-na), and Park Se-hyun (as Ahn Yoo-jung).

The session began amidst excitement and tension. Seo Kang-joon transformed into ‘Jung Hae-sung,’ the ace agent of NIS’s domestic team 4. He showcased a sharp charisma befitting of an NIS agent, yet seamlessly embodied the character of a high school student.

Jin Ki-joo took on the role of ‘Oh Soo-ah,’ a temporary Korean history teacher. She portrayed Soo-ah’s unique bright and lively personality, creating an amicable atmosphere on set. Jin Ki-joo is expected to show special chemistry as a mentor-mentee with Seo Kang-joon.

Kim Shin-rok played ‘Seo Myung-joo,’ the chairwoman of Byeong Moon Foundation and Byeong Moon High School. She demonstrated her veteran acting skills. With her cold and calculated voice modulation and delicate facial expressions, she hinted at a transformative performance.

Additionally, various actors such as Jeon Bae-soo, Lee Seo-hwan, Jo Bok-rae, Yoon Ga-yi, Kim Min-ju, Park Se-hyun, and Shin Joon-hang delivered captivating performances. They vividly portrayed characters full of individual charms, raising expectations for an enjoyable drama.

Seo Kang-joon stated, “I think it’s a work where you can feel a variety of elements, including fun, emotion, and laughter.” Jin Ki-joo said, “I will make sure to bring joy to viewers with each meeting.” ‘Undercover High School’ is set to premiere next month.
