Former President Yoon Seok-yeol's Noncompliance with Special Prosecutor's Summons Due to 'Discontent' Rather Than 'Health'
It has been reported that the reason for former President Yoon Seok-yeol's noncompliance with the special prosecutor's summons is due more to dissatisfaction with the investigation than to health-related issues.
On the afternoon of the 28th, attorney Seo Jeong-wook appeared on MBC Radio's ‘Gwon Soon-pyo's News High Kick’ and revealed this information. Attorney Seo is said to have a communication relationship with the Yoon couple and is reportedly friends with First Lady Kim Gun-hee's brother.

Attorney Seo made it clear regarding the summons for First Lady Kim Gun-hee scheduled for the 6th of next month, stating, "Of course, she will go. Mrs. Kim is fully committed to cooperating sincerely with the investigation." This response contrasts with that of former President Yoon, drawing attention.
Distrust in Special Prosecutor Investigation and Perception of 'Political Revenge'
Attorney Seo provided an interesting explanation regarding the true reason behind former President Yoon's refusal to respond to the special prosecutor’s summons.
He stated, "While health is a concern, the perception is that the special prosecutor has already reached a conclusion since the request for a second arrest warrant—an orchestrated investigation viewed as political revenge."
Additionally, Seo mentioned, "Health serves as a pretext, but the reality is that the special prosecutor's investigation is heading toward a conclusion that has already been set as 'cruel political revenge.' That’s why there is a total boycott." In other words, former President Yoon's refusal to comply stems from discontent and distrust regarding the special prosecutor's investigation itself.

Attorney Seo expressed, "If the purpose of the investigation was genuine, there wouldn’t need to be an arrest, and he would have been released. The perception is that it is political revenge," representing the stance of former President Yoon.
Meanwhile, regarding the fundraising efforts by attorney Kim Gye-ri, who is representing former President Yoon, Attorney Seo also provided his viewpoint.
He noted, "Perhaps attorney Kim Gye-ri had pure intentions and good motives, but the president did not ask for money, and in fact, the president does not need to spend money," adding, "While ordinary citizens might spend on snacks, it is inappropriate for the president to go to the vending machine in solitary confinement, and there is no need to spend money at all."
Attorney Seo mentioned that the total amount raised so far is "not much—around 4 million won." Furthermore, responding to the suspicion raised that "Isn't First Lady Kim Gun-hee not providing the fund?" he countered, "Is it plausible to think that First Lady Kim Gun-hee wouldn’t provide 1 million won, leading the president to act this way?" revealing his discomfort.
