HYBE is searching for the second Cat's Eye. They are preparing for a second global girl group in collaboration with Geffen Records.
On the 7th, HYBE and Geffen Records announced, "We are launching a large-scale audition called 'WORLD SCOUT THE FINAL PIECE' across Japan."
'WORLD SCOUT THE FINAL PIECE' is a project co-planned by HYBE and Geffen Records. HYBE's elite scouting team will be involved in discovering potential stars.
Successful audition candidates will undergo K-pop training from October to December. They will follow a training schedule developed by HYBE and Geffen Records tailored for the American market.
Afterwards, they will join a training camp established in the U.S. and will compete for selection as members of the team aimed for debut next year.
In the spring of next year, this journey will be exclusively showcased on the Japanese OTT service 'Abema.' HYBE and Geffen Records stated, "We will capture the process of talented individuals growing alongside the world's top producers."
There is anticipation for whether HYBE's strategy for K-pop globalization will succeed once again. In 2023, HYBE and Geffen Records launched a large-scale audition called 'The Debut: Dream Academy,' which led to the formation of Cat's Eye.
Cat's Eye made a splash right from their debut. They recently showcased their overwhelming musical capabilities on stage at 'Lollapalooza Chicago.' They are actively charting on major charts such as the U.S. Billboard main charts 'Hot 100' and 'Billboard 200.'
