“Scarlett Johansson Resonated”… ‘Jurassic World 4’ Surpasses 1 Million

The movie 'Jurassic World: New Beginnings' (directed by Gareth Edwards) has surpassed 1 million viewers. According to the integrated ticketing system of the Korean Film Council, 'Jurassic World: New Beginnings' (hereafter 'Jurassic World 4') attracted 804,657 viewers during its opening weekend. The total number of viewers now stands at 1,059,503.

It surpassed the weekend audience figures of this year's highest-grossing film 'The Opposition' (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk), which drew 780,000 viewers. It matched the pace of the number one foreign film 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning' (directed by Christopher McQuarrie), which also reached this number in 5 days.

'Jurassic World 4' is the fourth installment in the reboot series 'Jurassic World', which is based on 'Jurassic Park'. The story unfolds as truths that were hidden on an island housing a secret research facility are discovered.

Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson plays the role of special operations expert Zora. Jonathan Bailey takes on the role of paleontologist Dr. Henry. The two arrived in South Korea on the 1st to promote the film.

Meanwhile, 'Noise' (directed by Kim Soo-jin) attracted 320,000 viewers during the same period, securing the second place at the box office. 'F1: The Movie' (directed by Joseph Kosinski) maintained its third place with 320,000 viewers.
