Amusement Ride Safety Device Malfunctions… Elementary School Students Injured
An accident occurred at an amusement park in Jecheon, where the safety device of a ride malfunctioned.
According to police and relevant authorities, at around 11:45 AM on the 9th, four elementary school students were injured when the safety device of a ride in an amusement park near Uirimji in Mosan-dong, Jecheon, North Chungcheong Province, came undone.

While the ride was operating, which moves quickly in an oval pattern, the safety device suddenly disengaged, causing the students who were on board to bounce off their seats.
The ride was immediately stopped, and the incident did not result in any falls from the ride.
Investigation of Amusement Park Officials Ongoing… Need for Enhanced Safety Inspections Raised
Four students were injured in this incident, and two of them suffered minor injuries and were transported to a hospital.
The other two students were also taken to the hospital for treatment after being handed over to their guardians.

Police are investigating whether there was any negligence on the part of the amusement park officials. They plan to verify whether regular inspections of the ride were properly conducted and whether safety management manuals were followed.
This incident has raised the need for enhanced safety inspections at amusement parks and facilities that cater to many child patrons.
