Disney+'s new series 'Pine: The Country Bumpkins' is promising an extraordinary showcase of characters.

The production team of 'Pine: The Country Bumpkins' (written by Kang Yoon-sung and Ahn Seung-hwan, directed by Kang Yoon-sung) released three group posters on the 7th, hinting at a fierce battle among 18 characters set against the backdrop of the sea off Sinan.

The drama is set in 1977 and tells the story of hardworking country bumpkins who gather to claim a sunken treasure ship, filled with deceit and trickery.

The posters are divided into three regions: Seoul, Mokpo, and Busan. The visuals of characters representing each area are captivating. The ceramic piece at the bottom signifies the starting point of the story.

First, the 'Seoul' poster features Ryu Seung-ryong (as Oh Gwan-seok), Yang Se-jong (as Oh Hee-dong), Im Soo-jung (as Yang Jeong-suk), Kim Seong-woo (as Lim Jeon-chul), Kim Jong-soo (as Song Sa-jang), and Lee Sang-jin (as Na Dae-sik).

They are summarized with the phrase "Those who hold the money." Ryu Seung-ryong, wearing sunglasses, displays a determination for a big score. Yang Se-jong hints at unpredictable events with a gaze reflecting complex emotions.

Im Soo-jung transforms into the owner of Heungbaek Industries who holds the financial strings, revealing hidden ambitions behind her cold expression. The Seoul team has raised expectations for the story to unfold in the sea off Sinan.

The 'Mokpo' poster features Hong Gi-jun (as Captain Hwang), Woo Hyun (as Ha Young-soo), Lee Dong-hwi (as Hong Gi), Jung Yoon-ho (as Beol-gu), Im Hyeong-jun (as Go Seok-bae), Kim Min (as Sun-ja), and Kim Jin-wook (as Lee Bok-geun).

They are described with the copy "Those who hold the sea." At the center is Captain Hwang, who reveals the persona of a veteran captain with a bushy beard and fierce eyes piercing through the waters.

Ha Young-soo is a ceramics expert, while Hong Gi, a police officer in Mokpo, is a principled traditionalist caught in the midst of conflict. Beol-gu is a flashy thug filled with ambition for a big score.

Lee Bok-geun acts as a key character who knows the location of the treasure, hinting at a turning point in the story. The Mokpo team, with its diverse characters, leads to a complex narrative thread.

Lastly, the 'Busan' poster features Kim Eui-sung (as Professor Kim), Won Hyun-joon (as Coach), Kwon Dong-ho (as Deok-san), Lee Geun-wook (as Skeleton), and Shin Chang-joo (as Ashtray).

As the copy "Those who hold guns" suggests, they embody a tense and rough conflict structure, with Kim Eui-sung portraying a con artist aiming for a big score who has crossed over to Sinan.

Director Kang Yoon-sung mentioned, "It's a character showcase with an incredibly large number of characters" and added, "Each character expresses their own assertions. It's a work with strong individuality."

He went on to say, "There will be enjoyment in following the story while observing that individuality," noting that "the purposes and desires of each character are slightly different. The small pleasures they create are key points."

Meanwhile, 'Pine: The Country Bumpkins' will first release three episodes on the 16th and will present two stories every Wednesday thereafter, totaling 11 episodes.
