Baseball player Ryu Hyun-jin (Hanwha Eagles) will appear on his first variety show since returning to Korea.

KBS-2TV announced on the 21st that “Ryu Hyun-jin has confirmed his appearance on ‘Mr. House Husband’ following the end of the season.

As it is his first variety show since returning to Korea, it will reveal the special Major Leaguer lifestyle he hasn’t shown anywhere else.”

The anticipation of baseball fans is rising.

This is because it’s Ryu Hyun-jin’s first observational variety show and also the first time his family of four will appear together.

Additionally, his home in Daejeon will be fully revealed.

The show will also depict his life after the season ends, capturing him as a devoted husband and father during the off-season.

Viewers will also get to see Ryu Hyun-jin’s skills and aspects as the chairman of the ‘Ryu Hyun-jin Foundation.’

The production team stated, “We put in a lot of effort over a long period to bring in Ryu Hyun-jin. Since it was a difficult meeting to arrange, Ryu Hyun-jin candidly shared his feelings during his first pre-meeting with the production team after returning to Korea.”

Meanwhile, Ryu Hyun-jin made a name for himself as a ‘monster pitcher’ upon debut.

In 2013, he became the first player from the KBO League to advance to the U.S.

Major League, signing a six-year contract with the LA Dodgers valued at $61.73 million (approximately 82.6 billion won).

In 2019, he became the first Korean player and only the second Asian player to start as a pitcher in the Major League All-Star Game.

He set a monumental record as the first Asian player to achieve the number one ERA (Earned Run Average).

He subsequently signed a significant deal with the Toronto Blue Jays worth $80 million (approximately 92.94 billion won) over four years.
