K-pop female artists have made significant strides in the birthplace of pop music, the United Kingdom, securing spots on major local charts.
According to the UK Official Singles Chart 'Top 100' (as of the 16th), Rosé has charted two solo songs. Her collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars, "APT," reached 26th place. Despite being released seven months ago, the song continues to receive love and has maintained a spot in the top rankings for 30 consecutive weeks after peaking at number 2. There's anticipation around whether it will surpass PSY's "Gangnam Style," which held the record for 55 weeks.
Her new song also debuted directly at number 100 on the same chart. Rosé released the original soundtrack (OST) "Messy" for the movie "F1 The Movie" on the 8th.
It's not just Rosé. Jennie has also firmly held her position on the 'Top 100.' Her solo debut title track "like JENNIE" ranked 69th, achieving a record of 10 consecutive weeks on the chart.
The activity of the group Cat's Eye is also noteworthy. Their single "Gnarly," released on the 30th of last month, secured 75th place. After debuting at 60th the previous week, they maintained their position in the rankings for the second consecutive week.
