Actress Kang Chae-young will meet viewers in tvN's new weekend drama 'Jeong Nyeoni'.
Gilstory ENT announced on the 8th that "Kang Chae-young will appear as Kim Geum-hee in the drama 'Jeong Nyeoni'. She is expected to showcase a comprehensive art performance, including pansori, dance, and witty storytelling."
'Jeong Nyeoni' is set in the aftermath of the Korean War in the 1950s. It is a work that depicts the competition, solidarity, and brilliant growth story of Jeong Nyeoni, a 'sound genius' who challenges to become the best national drama actor.
Kang Chae-young will play Kim Geum-hee, a member of the Maeran National Drama Troupe like Yoon Jeong-nyeon (played by Kim Tae-ri). She feels jealousy towards the 'genius sori singer' Jeong Nyeoni's talent, but also admires her.
Kang Chae-young made a mark with the Netflix series 'Juvenile Justice', appearing as Kang Seon-a, the victim of a group sexual assault. Although she was a rookie, she left a strong impression on veteran actress Kim Hye-soo.
Additionally, she showcased her delicate acting skills in Disney+ 'Moving' and '2:15 PM' from 'O’PENing 2023'. She has also appeared in films such as 'Revolver', 'Cobweb', 'The Moon', and '20th Century Girl', traversing the screen.
'Jeong Nyeoni' will premiere on the 12th at 9:20 PM.
