Seoul Guro District Bank Robbery Hoax, Chinese Gang Arrested

A bank robbery incident that occurred in the Guro District of Seoul has turned out to be a hoax, leading to the arrest of three Chinese individuals by the police.

According to TV Chosun on the 29th, the Guro Police Station in Seoul announced that they are investigating these individuals on charges of embezzlement and obstructing the duties of public officials. The incident began when a report was received at around 3:20 PM on the 28th, stating that a man armed with a weapon had robbed money inside a bank restroom.

The reporter, identified as a 50-year-old Chinese woman A, claimed that she was robbed of 110 million won in cash that she had withdrawn from the bank. However, a swift investigation by the police revealed that this was a planned hoax.

It was discovered that a 30-year-old Chinese man B, who was apprehended at Incheon Airport at 7:27 PM that day, had attempted to flee overseas with the cash after the staged incident.

The police tracked down another accomplice who connected A and B, leading to the additional arrest of a 50-year-old Chinese man C from a hideout in the Guro District around 3 PM that day. All three are currently under police investigation, and the authorities are thoroughly examining the motives behind their hoax.

In addition, the police are planning to apply for arrest warrants against them and will continue their investigation to uncover the full details of the case.
