'BTS' RM has captured the attention of experts worldwide. RM's music video for 'LOST!' has been nominated at the German 'Ciclope Festival' in the music video category and the 'UKMVA 2024' in the United Kingdom.
The 'Ciclope Festival' is an international film festival in the fields of advertising and entertainment. Authorities in the creative industry annually select and announce the most outstanding works and individuals in each category.
'LOST!' has been nominated in four music video categories: Direction, Cinematography, Production Design, and Color Grading.
This year, it has also been nominated at the UK Music Video Awards in three categories: Best Alternative International, Best Production Design, and Best Visual Effects. V's digital single 'Friends' (2024.3) music video is also nominated in the Best Pop International category. Previously, Jungkook's 'Seven' music video was the first K-pop video to be nominated in this category last year.
The winners will be announced on October 10 for the Ciclope Festival and October 25 for the UK Music Video Awards.
'LOST!' is the title track of RM's second solo album 'Light Plays, Longperson' released last May. American Billboard and Rolling Stone, as well as British NME, have named it the 'Best Album'.
RM's documentary film 'RM: Light People, Long Plays' is also attracting attention. It is the first K-pop documentary to be invited to the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival (October 7).
Open Cinema showcases new works and internationally acclaimed pieces that combine artistry and popularity. RM's film sold out all seats as soon as reservations opened on September 24.
Jungkook released his documentary film 'Jungkook: I Am Still' on the 18th. According to the Korean Film Council's comprehensive computer network for movie tickets, it entered the domestic box office at 5th place. It continues to maintain a top position. Not only that, but it also ranked 9th in the US and Germany box office for the 38th week (September 20-22, 2024). The global audience response is enthusiastic.
The 'LOST!' music video was directed by Obe Peri, known for directing videos for pop star Harry Styles. RM appeared directly as the protagonist escaping from a maze of thoughts. The music video is notable for its meaningful objects scattered throughout and its witty direction, with the size and proportions of spaces changing irregularly. It has received significant attention since its release.
