“Look forward to RISE’s unique charm,” RISE will release the track ‘Hug’ on major music sites at 8 p.m. today. They also plan to simultaneously open the stage video on their official YouTube channel (SMTOMN). They reinterpreted TVXQ’s song. The members shared their candid thoughts.

“Since it’s a famous song by our respected senior, TVXQ, we really wanted to do a good job,” they confessed. They hinted at RISE’s unique charm. “Hug is a song with an atmosphere we’ve never tried before.

When we heard about the remake, we couldn’t imagine how it would turn out,” they recalled. They created a different vibe from the original song. “You’ll feel RISE’s cute charm,” they explained, suggesting that “it would be nice to focus on our fresh appearance.”

Lastly, they pointed out the listening highlights. “I think the killing part might be ‘one, two, three, four,’” they laughed, concluding with, “We hope you look forward to the new song.”

‘Hug’ is TVXQ’s debut song, released in 2004. Park Mun-chi rearranged it, enhancing its charm. It incorporates Y2K sentiment and trendy sound, offering a new retro mood. Especially, the soft acapella by RISE members in the intro instantly captivates the listener.

An insider hinted, “The refreshing vocals evoke nostalgia.” SM Entertainment is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. They are releasing a commemorative album. SM’s representative hit songs are reinterpreted by junior and senior artists to suit each other’s team colors.

Other tracks will be unveiled through the ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025’ concert held at the Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome on the 11th and 12th.
