‘Revelation,’ to be released on March 21… Yeon Sang-ho’s new psychological thriller

Director Yeon Sang-ho throws a sharp question about human instincts. The Netflix film 'Revelation' (directed by Yeon Sang-ho) is set to release on the 21st of next month. Prior to this, the main poster and launch trailer were revealed on the 24th, hinting at an unpredictable storyline.

'Revelation' depicts the story of a pastor who believes punishing the culprit of a disappearance case is God's revelation and a detective haunted by the vision of his deceased brother, each pursuing their beliefs. The poster features Pastor Sung Min-chan (played by Ryu Jun-yeol), who claims to have witnessed God's revelation, Detective Lee Yeon-hee (played by Shin Hyun-bin), tormented by the vision of her deceased brother, and ex-convict Kwon Yang-rae (played by Shin Min-jae), who is suspected as the culprit of the disappearance case.

The three are in a rain-soaked forest, each looking in different directions as if searching for something. How will the convictions and choices of those pursuing their faith collide to create the story?

The trailer begins with a phone call reporting the disappearance of a female middle school student from the church where Sung Min-chan is a pastor. He receives a revelation that Kwon Yang-rae, an ex-convict who accidentally visits the church, is the culprit of the disappearance case and starts pursuing him.

Lee Yeon-hee is a detective haunted by visions of her dead brother. While investigating the disappearance case, she discovers suspicious circumstances involving Sung Min-chan and Kwon Yang-rae. What happened to her brother, burdening her with guilt?

Towards the end of the video, the copy reads, "Madness begins with a twisted belief," forecasting a frenzied chase between hunter and hunted. Director Yeon Sang-ho has always built his own world view through new challenges. This time, he offers intricate psychological portrayals and a fast-paced narrative, crossing between crime, mystery, and psychological thriller genres for a complex and entertaining experience. The performances of Ryu Jun-yeol, Shin Hyun-bin, and Shin Min-jae are set to enhance immersion.
