The body of a woman in her 60s was found at Mulwang Lake in Siheung City, police investigation underway

On the morning of the 12th, around 8 AM, a woman in her 60s, referred to as A, was discovered dead at Mulwang Lake in Sanyeon-dong, Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province.

According to the Siheung Police Station, the police received a report from a witness stating, "There is a person floating on the water," and immediately dispatched officers to the scene to recover A's body.

The police have identified A's identity through the autopsy and are currently investigating the circumstances leading to her death by tracing her movements while she was alive. It has been reported that A was clothed at the time of recovery and that the level of decomposition was not severe. Based on this, the police estimate that A had not been dead for a long time.

There were no external injuries or signs of homicide found on A's body, and no suicide notes or clues suggesting suicide were discovered in the surrounding area.

In order to determine the exact cause of death, the police plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service on A's body.

A police official stated, "Since this is an ongoing investigation, we cannot confirm specific details such as any missing person report history," and added, "We plan to ascertain the detailed circumstances of death through the forensic autopsy."
