"Don't Clear Background Apps on Your iPhone…" Advice from an Apple Store Employee
Organizing unused apps from time to time not only brings peace of mind but also gives the feeling of using the battery more efficiently.
However, an employee at an Apple Store stated that such actions could actually waste battery life.
On the 23rd of last month (local time), according to a report by the British daily DailyMail, a man named A visited the Apple Store and received the advice from an employee not to clear background apps on his iPhone.

Recently, A experienced problems with his iPhone and went to the Apple Store where he met a technician named B.
That day, he cleared all unused background apps in front of technician B while asking for repairs for his iPhone.
In response, technician B advised A, stating, "Closing background apps actually consumes more battery, data, and time," and urged him not to close the apps.

Moreover, B added, "People think these apps are running in the background. However, they are not; they are just sitting still."
The video has now been shared over 20,000 times, providing fresh shock to iPhone users.
Indeed, Apple specifies on its technical support page that "you should only quit apps that are unresponsive."

Additionally, Craig Federighi, Apple's Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, has mentioned that "there's no need to terminate apps."
In response to this, netizens have expressed reactions such as "I still need to clear them for peace of mind," "This could be Apple's trick to induce malfunctions," "I'll act like I didn't see this video," "The speed improves when I clear everything, right? Or is that just my imagination?" and "I thought keeping them open continuously used battery."
