KBS expressed deep regret to Real Madrid for canceling the K-pop concert.

The production team of KBS-2TV's 'Music Bank' released an official statement on the 20th regarding 'Real Madrid's cancellation of Music Bank in Madrid.'

Initially, KBS planned to hold 'Music Bank in Madrid' at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the home ground of Real Madrid, on the 12th of next month.

However, the concert was abruptly canceled a month before its scheduled date due to complaints from nearby residents about noise and traffic congestion.

The 'Music Bank' team pointed out, "Real Madrid did not discuss or request anything in advance to local and Korean organizers before the related news broke."

They added, "Even six days after announcing the decision to cancel the concert, they have not provided any explanation or apology to the organizers and K-pop fans."

Global K-pop fans are especially angry about the situation, and it's understandable since 'Music Bank in Madrid' is the world's largest K-pop event, expected to attract 50,000 people.

A petition demanding the concert to proceed was even created. On 'Change.org,' a petition in Spanish was posted, asking to allow the 'Music Bank' event.

The producers expressed "deep regret for Real Madrid's unilateral cancellation of the concert" and demanded an official apology, stating they could not accept the unjust decision.

They called for a practical solution to the issue, saying, "Real Madrid should take responsibility for the losses of K-pop fans and artists, and the damage to the 'Music Bank World Tour' brand image."

Lastly, they "strongly requested cooperation to resume the concert" and mentioned they have the "ability and willingness to do everything possible."

They concluded with, "We thank the fans and hope that the final negotiations with Real Madrid will proceed smoothly to make this dream stage a reality."

Meanwhile, Bernabéu has been used by Real Madrid since 1947. It was reopened in March after remodeling.
