Actors Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun-jin depict a perplexing relationship. Netflix’s new series “Trunk” (written by Park Eun-young and directed by Kim Kyu-tae) will be released on the 29th. The main poster and trailer were unveiled on the 12th. “Trunk” is a mystery melodrama.
It tells the strange marriage story of two individuals caught up in a secretive marriage service that starts unraveling due to a trunk found floating by a lakeside. It deeply and densely portrays the relationships and emotions of various characters intertwined in a contractual marriage, including love, sympathy, salvation, obsession, desire, loneliness, and emptiness.
The poster encapsulates the subtle relationship of the contractual couple, showing the close yet distant relationship between Noh In-ji (played by Seo Hyun-jin) and Han Jeong-won (played by Gong Yoo) at a glance.

The trailer hints at a mysterious murder case involving the trunk discovered by the lake. Han Jeong-won ends up accepting Noh In-ji, from a temporary marriage matchmaking company, as his new wife. Han Jeong-won cynically remarks, “It’s a fake marriage anyway, does it even matter?”
To which Noh In-ji cryptically responds, “There seem to be many who do not want their loneliness exposed, even if they hold on to that fake.” Han Jeong-won reveals his complex feelings by saying, “That woman bothers me.” However, the secretive marriage entangled with reality and illusion, resentment and desire, becomes increasingly chaotic.
Han Jeong-won tenderly says, “I need you. Perhaps we might be destined.” What secret might the abandoned trunk, found instead of a corpse, hold? Director Kim Kyu-tae, known for “Our Blues” and “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” helms the series. Writer Park Eun-young, who wrote “Hwarang,” has teamed up to bring about a bold and stylish mystery melodrama. “Trunk” will premiere on Netflix on the 29th.
