Unauthorized Use of Public Toilet Electricity by Bygone Campers
A scene of campers illegally drawing electricity from a public toilet at Daepho Port in Sokcho, Gangwon Province has been captured.
On the 6th, an article titled "Shameless Electric Thief Camper at Sokcho Daepho Port" was posted on the automotive online community 'Bobae Dream'.
The writer, Mr. A, stated that on the morning of the 27th of last month, he spotted a camper illegally using public electricity near the public toilet located in Daepho-dong, Sokcho City.

Mr. A explained, "The vehicle in question was connected to the outlet of the public toilet to draw electricity for the vehicle," adding, "This is clearly theft of electricity."
In the photos that Mr. A shared, the camper parked in front of the public toilet was utilizing a power strip to draw electricity from the toilet.

Mr. A commented, "Articles about unauthorized use of public electricity frequently appear in the media, and this can lead to actual penalties, yet the arrogance of the vehicle owner, who boldly uses public electricity like this, is truly astonishing."
He continued, "Such actions lead to unfair criticism for innocent campers and overnight parking users, ultimately resulting in expanded camping bans or forced crackdowns."
Unauthorized Use of Public Electricity… Subject to 'Theft Charges'

Earlier, on the 11th of last month, a photo of a camper illegally using public toilet electricity was shared on an online community, inciting public outrage.
According to a witness, Mr. B, the problematic campers not only used public toilet electricity but also left behind food waste by illegally dumping it into the sea.
Moreover, in 2022, another camper was criticized by citizens after being caught using public toilet electricity to charge their vehicle.
Meanwhile, electricity, as a manageable power, is treated as property; therefore, the act of using electricity from a public facility without permission can be subject to 'theft' charges.
