Baek Sang-hoon profiler analyzes Kim Soo-hyun's press conference: "It doesn't seem truthful."

Baek Sang-hoon, a profiler, provided sharp analysis of Kim Soo-hyun's tearful press conference.

On the 31st of last month, Baek Sang-hoon released a video titled "Analysis of Kim Soo-hyun's KakaoTalk by Statement Analysts and the Mockery from Gaseyeon" on his YouTube channel.

In the video, Baek Sang-hoon evaluated Kim Soo-hyun's press conference, stating, "At first, when I heard Kim Soo-hyun was going to hold a press conference, I expected some honest revelations and reflections. I thought he would take responsibility and show remorse if there were immoral aspects concerning a young girl, but I was greatly disappointed. The conference does not seem truthful."

He pointed out an alternative approach that Kim Soo-hyun could have taken, saying, "Even if they knew each other for a long time, he could have said they were not dating until after she became an adult. However, that seems a bit childish. In some ways, it appears to be a sophistry. It would have been better if he had been more honest."

Questioning the message delivered amidst tears

Baek Sang-hoon questioned the authenticity of Kim Soo-hyun's press conference conducted in tears.

He remarked, "Many people mention that while he was tearfully overwhelmed with emotion, he managed to say everything he needed to say. Can we usually convey emotions and content simultaneously?" He pointed out, "This is why people doubt, 'Isn't this acting?'"

He continued, "I don't know about that. From his perspective, he had grievances to convey, needed to refute, and wanted to present evidence. But the overall appearance was not good."

Particularly, he sharply criticized the moment when Kim Soo-hyun referred to himself as "Star Kim Soo-hyun."

Baek Sang-hoon stated, "Ultimately, instead of discussing the deceased, he talked about the company staff and his lack of honesty regarding the past, saying that it was his duty as a star to support those involved in the project 'Queen of Tears.' Emphasizing being a star might serve to rationalize himself. His stance of 'There was nothing I could do if I went back,' and 'I had to protect those around me' suggests that a year is short if short and long if long. At that time, the young woman, barely over twenty, was likely undergoing struggles and faced difficult situations, and he should have expressed feelings about that person."

He added, "Dating a minor is more of a moral issue than a legal one, according to child welfare laws. He spoke as if he were a sacrificial victim, discussing 12 billion won in damages against the bereaved family and Gaseyeon, which he can do as it's his right, but it still feels unsettling. Whether what he said is true or false is not my judgment, but he knows better."

Baek Sang-hoon also raised questions about the credibility of the "messenger emotion report" presented by Kim Soo-hyun's side as evidence.

He commented, "The KakaoTalk messages exchanged with Kim Sae-ron were analyzed for statements, which led to scorn from Gaseyeon, and they deserved it. How poorly must the statement analysis have been conducted?" He noted, "To put it accurately, they are neither the National Institute of Scientific Investigation nor an official institution. They entrusted it to a private statement analysis center, which merely conducts analyses for a fee. Opposing analyses could also emerge. They revealed past statements that even Jo Joo-bin couldn’t get right as if they were highly scientific."

He continued, "The controversies will persist. This situation was brought upon himself," adding, "I don't want to mention it anymore, but if he doesn’t resolve things, the controversies will escalate."

Meanwhile, on the 31st of last month, Kim Soo-hyun firmly denied the claims that he had pressured the deceased to repay debts and had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron while she was a minor.

He pleaded, "As 'Star Kim Soo-hyun,' I have much to lose and many things to protect. I can no longer watch my family and company employees suffer because of me."

Afterward, Kim Soo-hyun filed a lawsuit seeking 12 billion won in damages against the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron and several channels.

However, the public has responded coldly to Kim Soo-hyun's tearful appeals, with comments such as "false tears" and "it seems he's still stuck in 'Queen of Tears.'"

The attention is now on how the ongoing truth battle between the two will conclude, which has been ongoing since last month.
