Actor Ahn Hyoseop has taken on the role of Jinwoo in "Lion Boys." He has released a cover of the OST track for "K-Pop Demon Hunters."
On the 1st, Ahn Hyoseop posted a short video on social media, where he sang "Free," the OST of the Netflix animation "K-Pop Demon Hunters" (directed by Mega Kang and Chris Appelhans).
From the very beginning, he embodied the character Jinwoo. This is not surprising, as Ahn Hyoseop provided the voice acting for Jinwoo's character, performing all of the lines in English.
His top-notch vocal skills stood out. He adeptly controlled the dynamics of his voice, hitting high notes with ease. Using his sweet and attractive voice as a weapon, he reproduced the emotional impact of the film.
Since its release on the 20th, "K-Pop Demon Hunters" has been sweeping various movie and music charts. According to Flickpatrol, it has held the top spot in Netflix's Top 10 Movies for 11 consecutive days.
The songs featured in the film have also gained popularity among global listeners. The "K-Pop Demon Hunters" OST has climbed to 8th place on the Billboard 200, the main album chart in the U.S. (as of the 5th).
But that's not all. Lion Boys' "Your Idol" debuted at 77th on the Billboard Hot 100, the main singles chart, while Huntix's "Golden" entered at 81st.
On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, "Golden" led the way, reaching 6th place on the "Daily Top Songs Global" chart (as of the 29th). "Your Idol" secured the 10th spot.
Additionally, Lion Boys' "Soda Pop" ranked 16th on the same chart, Huntix's "How It's Done" came in at 17th, and the duet song "Free" by Lumi and Jinwoo appeared at 27th.
Meanwhile, "K-Pop Demon Hunters" is an animation based on K-pop idols, telling the story of protagonist girl group exorcists who stand against the grim reaper boy group.
