The virtual idol group 'PLAVE' has reached the top of the music charts (Melon) and set a record as the first male group to do so this year.

On the 20th, PLAVE released their new digital single 'Pump Up The Volume!' and immediately rose to the top ranks of major music charts.

On Melon, they entered at No. 1 on the 'Hot100' and No. 6 on the 'Top100' at 7 PM on the release day. As of the morning of the 21st, they swept the top spot on both charts, showcasing their overwhelming music power.

PLAVE is the first male idol group this year to top Melon’s Top100. Until now, only solo artists and girl groups had reached the top. PLAVE is the only male group to achieve this.

Only five K-pop male groups have ever topped Melon's Top100: BTS, Big Bang, NCT Dream, SEVENTEEN, and EXO. PLAVE has proven its competitiveness.

They also succeeded in dominating Melon's charts. In addition to their new song hitting No. 1, they secured No. 2 (Way 4 Love), No. 4 (Our Movie), No. 5 (Watch Me Woo!), No. 6 (From), and No. 7 (Virtual Idol).

'Pump Up The Volume!' is a refreshing band song with an exciting sound and a retro feel. The melody, which was composed spontaneously during the members' live broadcast, is its foundation.

The music video is also drawing attention. It stands out with its romantic, cinematic visuals reminiscent of a youth film. The members' sweet vocals add to the visual and auditory enjoyment.

In the music video, the members go camping in the Asterum desert. They create a temporary radio station to communicate with Terra and present a song to their fans on Terra.

Guest appearances have also become a hot topic. GOT7's Youngjae introduces PLAVE in the intro, continuing their connection from 'Chinchin Radio.' Comedian Park Myung-soo makes an appearance in the outro.

PLAVE has shown consistent growth. In February, they became the first virtual idol group to win first place on terrestrial music shows with 'Asterum: 134-1'.

The album achieved over 1 billion cumulative streams, reaching Melon's 'Billion Club' in record time. Their first solo concert attracted 70,000 simultaneous pre-sale access.

Meanwhile, PLAVE will hold an encore fan concert, 'PLAVE FAN CONCERT "Hello, Asterum!" ENCORE,' at Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium on October 5-6.
