Actor Song Jae-rim (39) has passed away. Fellow celebrities mourned his death. Actor Park Ho-san reminisced about Song Jae-rim on social media on the 12th. Sharing a photo of the two, he said, “You were so bright. I can’t believe it.” He also expressed regret over the sudden news.
Park Ho-san said, “I’m sorry. I couldn’t keep in touch or take care of you. I’m really sorry,” showing his sorrow. Jung Eun-pyo also joined in the tribute. He had a connection with Song Jae-rim from the drama ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun’ (2009). He posted a photo from the set along with white chrysanthemums.
Wishing for the deceased’s peace, he wrote, “Goodbye. I hope it will be a happy journey.” Song Jae-rim’s social media profile once read, “The beginning of a long journey.” Lee Yoon-ji also expressed sadness over his passing. “I remember your purity. I hope you live freely there,” she said.
Hong Seok-cheon mourned, saying, “I love you, I’m sorry, and I miss you.” Looking at a photo of Song Jae-rim smiling, he said, “I’m sad that I won’t be able to see this great smile again.” He added, “It’s distressing not being able to take good care of you and having to say goodbye without a proper farewell. I’m sorry and sorry again. I couldn’t be a good brother. Rest in peace.”
Song Jae-rim was found dead in his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, around 12:30 p.m. that day. It’s reported that a friend visited the deceased’s home and then notified the police. The exact cause of death has not been disclosed. Seongdong Police stated, “So far, there is no suspicion of murder or other crimes.” A will was also found at the scene.
Song Jae-rim’s memorial was set up at 5:30 p.m. the same day at Yeouido St. Mary’s Funeral Hall in Seoul. The funeral is scheduled for the 14th, and the burial site will be at the Seoul Municipal Crematorium. The deceased was active in many fields during his lifetime. He made his debut in 2009 as a minor role in the film ‘Actresses’ and gained public recognition for his role as Kim Jae-woon in ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun.’
He also appeared on variety shows, including MBC-TV’s ‘We Got Married Season 4,’ where he gained popularity as a virtual couple with Kim So-eun for his quirky charm, which contrasted with his looks. Recently, he had mostly been meeting audiences on stage.
He participated in the play ‘Wife,’ which ended last February, and showed performances in the musical ‘The Rose of Versailles,’ which concluded last month. He appeared in several dramas, including the TVing original ‘Woo Scheme Queen’ and the U.S. OTT Rakuten Viki series ‘Blooming Romance,’ where he worked with Nam Gyu-ri.
