A man in his 20s who threatened to place explosives at the concert venue of Playb has been apprehended.

The Yongin Western Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 20th that they have booked individual A on charges of public threat and are currently investigating the case. They plan to forward the case to the police station in A's residential area for further investigation.

On the 18th, A posted about the Playb encore concert on social media. The concert is scheduled for November 21-22. A wrote, "I will place explosives at Gocheok Dome on that day."

The police identified A, who resides in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, within about 2 hours and 30 minutes. During the police investigation, it is reported that A stated, "I did it as a joke."

Recently, there has been a series of threats involving explosives. Targets have included Shinsegae Department Store, a swimming pool in Busan, a gaming company in Seongnam, the Olympic gymnastics venue, and Everland in Yongin.

Such actions can be punished under the crime of public threat, with penalties of up to 5 years in prison or fines of up to 20 million won. Repeat offenders may face increased penalties of up to 1.5 times the original sentence.
