The movie "Pilot" (directed by Kim Han-gyeol) is continuing its box office success into its second week.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for theater tickets, "Pilot" recorded a cumulative audience of 2,205,130 as of the morning of the 8th.
It has achieved the milestone of surpassing its break-even point. "Pilot" debuted at No. 1 at the box office on its release date of the 31st. It has maintained its top position for the past eight days.
"Pilot" has broken even quicker than any other film released this summer. Its performance is expected to grow even stronger moving forward.
"Pilot" is a comedy film featuring star pilot 'Han Jeong-woo' (played by Jo Jung-suk) as the main character. The story revolves around him becoming unemployed overnight and successfully finding reemployment.
Actor Jo Jung-suk has returned to the big screen for the first time in five years since the movie "Exit." He dresses as a woman for reemployment and delivers laughs to the audience with his unique and witty acting style.
The chemistry with his co-stars also stands out. Jo Jung-suk shows a genuine friendship with Lee Joo-myung (playing Yoon Seul-gi) and a sibling-like banter with Han Sun-hwa (playing Han Jeong-mi). He engages in a humorous rivalry with Shin Seung-ho (playing Seo Hyun-seok).
