Jeon Kwang-hoon’s Controversial Statement: “Churches Are Originally Places to Experience Gaslighting”
Jeon Kwang-hoon, who is suspected of inciting the riots at the Seoul Western District Court, strongly refuted the allegations that he “instigated violent actions of church members through gaslighting.”
During the Sunday combined service held at Sarang Jeil Church on the 10th, Jeon made the controversial statement, “Why do you come to church? You come to be gaslighted by the pastor.”

During the service, Jeon questioned, “What do you know about the church, Christianity, and the Bible?” and mentioned that “today again on the news, they said Pastor Jeon conducted gaslighting.”
He argued that such reports implied that he was “behind the Western District Court incident, claiming he had conducted gaslighting to lock me up again.”
Police Investigating Connection Between Jeon Kwang-hoon and Sarang Jeil Church
Jeon claimed, “I don’t mind going to prison again or not, but it’s absurd to say that I was behind the Western District Court incident.”
The police suspect that special evangelists from Sarang Jeil Church, who were sentenced to more than three years in prison for involvement in the riots, have been psychologically dominated by Jeon through their faith and financial support.

In relation to this, the investigation team launched a forcible investigation on the 5th, conducting searches at Jeon’s residence, Sarang Jeil Church, and the YouTube channel office.
The police are expected to proceed with a face-to-face investigation of Jeon soon after analyzing the seized materials.
