Park Soo-young from the National Power Party: “Lee Jae-myung is not acceptable, the real judgment starts now”

"Impeachment is the judgment of the Constitutional Court… The re-establishment of power is up to the people"

Park Soo-young, a member of the People Power Party, stated regarding the Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss former President Yoon Suk-yeol that "Lee Jae-myung should not be an option." In a social media post on the 5th, Park acknowledged the significance of this decision but made it clear that the Democratic Party's politics should not be justified by the Constitutional Court's ruling.

Park stated, "I deeply accept the weight of the second impeachment of a president elected by our hands," but also emphasized that "while I respect the Constitutional Court's decision, the process leading to yesterday's decision was a series of irregularities."

He pointed out, "The people watched as an unauthorized agency arrested the president, and the validity of legal procedures crumbled as contaminated testimonies were adopted as evidence."

"Where has due process gone… Impeachment does not justify the Democratic Party's politics"

Particularly, Park questioned, "Where has the due process, which was most emphasized when learning about the constitution in the United States, vanished in the Republic of Korea?" He criticized, "Just because the impeachment has been accepted does not mean the politics of the Democratic Party is justified."

He continued, "Just because the impeachment has been accepted does not erase the illegal actions of Representative Lee Jae-myung," stressing, "Rather, it is now more important than ever for the court to conduct a responsible and swift trial."
