"I wanted to carry Park Hyung-sik and Heo Joon-ho on my back. That's how good it was," said writer Lee Myung-hee.
The production team of the new SBS-TV Friday-Saturday drama 'Treasure Island' (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu) released an interview on the 19th, mentioning the main cast and points to watch.
Writer Lee Myung-hee recalled the moment when she heard about the casting of the two actors. She expressed her satisfaction by saying, "I was so pleased that I wanted to carry them on my back."
The drama raises expectations for Park Hyung-sik's transformation in acting. Park Hyung-sik plays Seo Dong-joo, the head of the external cooperation team of Daesan Group. She expressed confidence, saying, "I am sure he will do well with his excellent acting skills."
Heo Joon-ho portrays Yeom Jang-seon, the hidden power who stands in opposition to him. The writer expressed high expectations, saying, "I'm very curious about how distinctively Heo Joon-ho will complete the villain."
Director Jin Chang-kyu also praised Park Hyung-sik. He commented on Park's display of masculinity and maturity in 'Treasure Island' that he hadn't shown before.
He also mentioned the help received in directing. "He's an actor who's always meticulous and intelligent, often coming up with ideas during discussions," he added.
The director expressed respect for Heo Joon-ho, saying, "He exudes an aura just by his presence," and described how he made the notorious villain role his own.
The key point to watch is the acting ensemble of the leading and supporting actors. Lee Hae-young (as Heo Il-do), Hong Hwa-yeon (as Yeo Eun-nam), and Woo Hyun (as Cha Kang-chun) deliver intense performances.
Meanwhile, 'Treasure Island' is a life-full-betting revenge drama. The story revolves around a man who hacks political slush funds and confronts absolute evil. It premieres on the 21st.
