The explosive acting duel between actors Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho heated up the home theater. The SBS-TV Friday-Saturday drama "Treasure Island" (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu) aired its 15th episode on the 11th. Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik) and Yeom Jang-seon (played by Heo Jun-ho) engaged in an intense battle.
According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded a national viewership rating of 13.4%. The metropolitan area saw 13.6%, with the peak rating soaring to 14.9%. It dominated the viewership charts, ranking first in all channels and weekly dramas during that time slot. The 2049 demographic rating also hit 3.5%, making it the top-rated program among all Friday broadcasts.
On that day, the performances of Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho stood out. Seo Dong-joo continued his quest for revenge, live-streaming Yeom Jang-seon's malicious acts. He even held a press conference to expose his true nature.
Despite this, Yeom Jang-seon did not stop. Instead, he moved in a more cruel and meticulous manner, launching underhanded tactics to thwart Seo Dong-joo's inheritance of the Daesan Group. He approached Cha Gang-cheon’s (played by Woo Hyun) illegitimate child and instilled suspicion towards Seo Dong-joo. He also induced a stock market crash for the Daesan Group, leaking information about Cha Gang-cheon's dementia to the reporters.
As the owner risk came to light, Cha Gang-cheon could no longer hold on, eventually joining hands with Seo Dong-joo. He revealed all the facts regarding Heo Il-do's death to the prosecution. Yeom Jang-seon was arrested on charges of instructing Heo Il-do's murder, but managed to avoid detention due to the influence of an elder (played by Choi Kwang-il). Yeom Jang-seon celebrated with a congressman over drinks.
The tension remained palpable until the end, with Seo Dong-joo secretly climbing into Yeom Jang-seon's car that night and overpowering the drunken Yeom. It was a shocking conclusion, as the next day, news broke of Yeom Jang-seon's disappearance. Even a month later, there was no trace of him. This left viewers curious about how the revenge drama would conclude.
Meanwhile, the final episode of "Treasure Island" will air on the 12th at 9:45 PM.
