Shortage chaos as people rush to buy kids' sandals… even fighting breaks out
At the Lotte Department Store in Incheon, a rush of people seeking to buy children's sandals from a famous sports brand led to chaos and a police dispatch.
On the morning of the 24th, at around 10:55 AM, the Incheon Mijuhol Police Station received a report via 112 that a "crowd has gathered and it’s crowded" at the Lotte Department Store in Gwanggyo-dong.

In front of the store located on the third floor, around 100 customers gathered at once to purchase children's shoes, creating a massive crowd.
Previously, the department store distributed numbers to people waiting outside before opening hours, but confusion arose as customers who received numbers mixed with those who entered through emergency exits once the doors opened, leading to heightened tensions.
A fight broke out over 'order'.
However, amid the chaos, the store began selling products according to its own waiting list, independent of the numbers distributed by the department store, adding to the confusion.

Police arrived at the scene to control the crowd. However, it was reported that there were no criminal incidents, such as assaults, reported.
A police official explained, "It seems that emotions escalated among customers as they sought limited items."

On the other hand, while the retail price of the shoes is 89,000 won, they caused a shortage that saw them selling for as high as 260,000 won on the resale platform KREAM last year.
Taking advantage of this popularity, the brand released online stock at 10 AM on the 24th, but currently, when you check the website, a pop-up appears saying, "This item is currently being prepared for sale or is scheduled to open."
Recently, comedian Hong Hyun-hee's husband, Jayseon, also revealed his attempt to do an open run at a department store to buy the shoes through their YouTube channel 'Hong Hyun-hee Jayseon's Hongseun TV'.
