The movie 'Opposition' returns with an extended cut.

'Opposition' (directed by Hwang Byeong-guk) will be released on the 6th of next month as 'Opposition: Extended Cut.' It had a successful release on April 16, attracting 3.37 million viewers, achieving the highest number of viewers for a restricted film since the COVID-19 pandemic.

It also earned the title of the highest-grossing Korean film released this year. In response to the overwhelming love, an extended version will be unveiled. The perspective shifts from Lee Gang-soo (played by Kang Ha-neul) to Goo Kwan-hee (played by Yoo Hae-jin).

Director Hwang Byeong-guk stated, "The film unfolds from the viewpoint of Prosecutor Goo Kwan-hee. I aimed to highlight the desire for power and its downfall even more prominently." He also added, "We've enhanced the story with a unique opening and character narratives, adding about 15 minutes of new content."

The new poster features Yoo Hae-jin at the center, flanked by Kang Ha-neul and Park Hae-joon (playing Oh Sang-jae), each looking in different directions. This teases the narrative to be developed from Goo Kwan-hee's perspective and indicates more intricate relationships.

'Opposition' is a crime action film. It tells the story of a prosecutor aiming to rise to greater heights by leveraging the drug scene in the Republic of Korea, a broker from the opposition disrupting drug investigations, and a detective who bets everything on eradicating drug crimes, each with different goals intertwined.

The film has received praise for its dopamine-inducing performances, its reflection of social realities through events and storylines, and its exhilarating, fast-paced developments. The extended version is expected to deliver an even broader narrative.
