Water Safety Accident Occurs at Beach Before Closing
A water safety accident occurred at a beach in Goseong-gun, Gangwon Province, just one day before its closure.
Three vacationers fell into the water, and one of them has been confirmed to be in critical condition.

According to the fire department, around 3:40 PM on the 16th, three vacationers enjoying snorkeling at Gonghyeonjin Beach in Jukwang-myeon, Goseong-gun, suddenly fell into the water.
Fortunately, two of them managed to escape on their own, but A (49) was found in cardiac arrest and was immediately transported to Sokcho Medical Center.

The police and fire authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident by questioning witnesses at the scene. The beach safety accident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to water play safety rules during the summer season.

Meanwhile, most beaches along the eastern coast of Gangwon Province, including Gonghyeonjin Beach where the incident occurred, are scheduled to close on the 17th.

All other beaches, except those in Sokcho and Yangyang, will be wrapping up the summer season.
